Today is a Special Day
Published September 11, 2014
Today is a special day for me...We can all remember where we were 13 years ago on September 11, 2001. It was a day that changed our lives forever and the direction of our nation. For me, that day is especially poignant since I was in New York City and lost three friends in the World Trade Center - Mark, Sean and Brent. The impact of September 11th continues to have a real effect on us to this day. We mustn't forget that many young men and women in uniform have been putting their lives on the line every day in defense of our nation for the last 13 years, with some making the ultimate sacrifice. We owe them our thanks and gratitude, so let me be the first to say to all our servicemen and women, "Thank you"...in particular I'd like to thank my brother, Max, who served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. I probably haven't said it enough but thank you for your service to our country and our family.
Please take a moment to reflect on what happened 13 years ago and if you see a man or woman in uniform say "thank you".
I'll finish with a few words to my lost friends...I will never forget you. Though you are no longer here with us physically you live on in my memories and the memories of those that you touched throughout your lives.
